I started climbing in 1993 at Chandler Park in Tulsa,OK. A friend of mine and I decided we would take up rock climbing so that we could climb the Diamond on Longs Peak. Of course we never made and my friend stopped climbing and joined the army. But I continued climbing and have been climbing almost every year since then. I have climbed in several different places and have enjoyed the good times as well as the bad times. I have been climbing in Chandler Park (Tulsa,OK), Lawton Ok, Boulder CO, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Veadavoo, WY. A couple of years ago, while I was out snowshoeing I saw something that fascinated me. People were climbing ice. WOW I feel in love right there with the sport. I went out and purchased some tool and crampons right away. I have had some interesting times ice climbing. My first time out I tripped and fell on an ice screw. It bled all day. After a quick visit to the doc I was back out again. It seems evry time I try a new sport it sends me to the doctor or hospital. I am a very careful person but I doesn't seem to help. This is why I have not tried skydiving---yet. I am not taking any classes this summer so I hope to do more climbing. My goal this summer is The Grand Teton. I let you know later how it turned out.
