Why community Health Project is n *
Nepal, though beautiful, is one of the poorest countries of the
world. Within Nepal also there is
great disparity between
the rich and the poor, between the able and unable. There are
many lives that
are clamed by ignorance and poverty than serious untreatable
diseases. Many remote Villages do not have accesses to basic medical
facilities in the dire needs * Government has tried to solve the health
problems by setting up sub health posts and health posts in the
rural set up. But at present these have not been fully effective in
spite of government’s commitment. The problems in these setups as
for our discussion would be:
1. Not involving
the communities concern for the planning and implementation
of their own health system. 3.
Inadequate supplies of drugs round the year. 4. Improper supervision and incentives to
the workers. Because of all these failures and because
there is ocean of suffering in the darkened Villages of our country
we have designed these programs with following strategies. *
Visit Gorkha district to find out the situation of different Villages,
(at least 5) study their needs, find what government has done what
lacks what is the population, their proportion any schools. *
Interview at least 10 senior persons, in the Villages and find what
are their felt needs. *
Prioritized our observed needs. *
Come back to Kathmandu, do group discussion and then identify the
Villages concern.
