Episode 6: Middleverse
Introducing: Forge
The Gist of It: Kurt stumbles across Forge's abandoned lab, meets up with
Rogue, and he ends up getting sucked into a pocket dimension known as Middleverse
because one of the little doohickies went wacky and zapped him. A frightened Rogue
throws the thingie away, and Todd then stumbles across it and decides to use it to zap all
of Mystique's furniture into Middleverse. Kurt, in Middleverse, meets Forge, who got
himself stuck there in the 1970s.
Jean and Scott, meanwhile, are searching for Kurt, and then stupid paranoid Scott thinks
the Brotherhood did something to his furry friend, so he throws poor Lance against a
locker for no reason. BAD SCOTT! Anyway, Jean and Scott find out that Todd's been
using the wacky doohicky to zap things, so the X-Geeks retrieve it from him and, with the
help of Rogue, find out what's been going on.
They then do some stuff and open a portal to the outside world, but-- oh no!-- Forge and
Kurt don't have enough power to get up. While they search for a better power source, the
Brotherhood (minus Pietro, for some odd reason...) show up and try to take the doohicky.
The X-Men win, of course, and then Kurt and Forge escape Middleverse using Mystique's
zapped in car. The car runs over the doohicky and slams into Blob who was, thankfully,
unharmed in the process.
Brotherhood Moments: Well, in the beginning, we see Pietro and Freddy walk by
(playing with a soccer ball? I don't know, it looked kinda like that). But, uh, for some
reason, Pietro's missing from the last fight. Who knows, maybe he had class... Actually,
the writers probably thought it'd be too easy to have Pietro in the fight, because he'd
simply run over to the doohicky and grab it before the X-Geeks could react, and then the
BADGUYS would win for once! The horror! Anyway, you also see Lance and Freddy
when Scott tries to pick a fight with them, and then there's Lance, Freddy, ad Todd in the
end trying to steal the doohicky from the X-Men. *sigh* Poor, simple-minded
Brotherhood... they should've just asked Pietro to do it...
Episode Highlights: I liked the scene with Lance and Scott in the hall only
because it looks like Scott wants to kiss him (in the screen grabs), and that amuses me for
some reason... ("Kiss me, you fool!" "Ack! Summers, get the hell away from me!"
*g*)
My Opinion on the Episode: I enjoyed this episode, even if it is predominantly
about Kurt...
Narration Time!
Rating: On a scale of 1 to 5, I'd have to give it another 4, yo. I'd give it a higher
rating, but the fact that everyone abuses me in this episode kinda brings it down. Geez,
people, when will you learn to be kinder to the amphibian populace?!
