Episode 4: Mutant Crush
Introducing: The Blob!
The Gist of It: This is another episode I haven't seen in quite a while, so I'm going
to just give a very basic summary. Fred J. Dukes is recruited by Mystique to join the
Brotherhood, and upon arriving in Bayville, he falls for Jean Grey. Meanwhile, Scott and
Rogue are paired together in an assignment over-- uh, I don't remember, but I think it's
Henry V.
Anywho, Freddy gets mad at Jean for not returning his affections, so he kidnaps her and
tries to make a romantic "date" out of it. Then, the X-Men come to the rescue and Scott
tells Rogue she's like an angel (because she saved the day and all). How sweet. :P
Brotherhood Moments: I don't remember much of this episode, but I think there
is a one-second shot of Lance and Todd somewhere, but I could be wrong. Oh well, this
ep is all about Blob, anyway, and he IS a Brotherhood guy, so...
Episode Highlights: Hmm... I liked the Scott and Rogue scenes.
My Opinion on the Episode: I don't like it very much, probably because Blob
reminds me of an ex-boyfriend of mine-- both in personality and in looks. Geez, I didn't
even like the guy, I only went out with him because all of my friends pressured me into it--
grr... And then I tried to break up with him after one date, and he wouldn't take no for an
answer, THEN he wanted to beat up/kill/whatever my best friend dude [oooh, rivalry!
Bleh] and was being just plain disturbing-- er, I'm ranting about something very irrelevant.
Actually, it's not. I can relate a little too much with this episode to really like it. (and eh, I
can't believe I'm actually comparing myself to Jean Grey in a sense)
Narration Time!
Rating: On a scale of 1 to 5, I'm givin' it a 2 cuz I get laughed at and I don't get
the girl! Those stupid X-Geeks got in the way! All I wanted to do was give her a
romantic date, you know?! Stupid faker! She's just like all the others! She just can't
accept me because I'm different!
: No, Freddy, she can't accept ya cuz you're creepy, yo.
: Screw you!
Rosiel: And there you have it, Freddy's take on the episode. (Okay, that was probably
the most half-assed one yet.)
