Episode 34: The Stuff of Villains

Introducing: No one

The Gist of It: This ep opens in a bad area of town. Some nasty dirty men are hanging around outside and see Wanda walk by, so they start following her and trying to harass her. Ohhh how stupid they are. She very nonchalantly whoops their asses with her spiffy powers as she walks by, and that's the end of them for the ep. Anywho, Wanda goes to an alley, where she meets Caliban. She tells him that she wants him to find Magneto using his powers, but Caliban's like "Uh. No. Bye" and walks off. Of course, it's not that easy to turn your back on Wanda! She blocks his exit with a bunch of trash cans, and he's like "Dude, I can't find Magneto, he's too advanced for me. If it was somebody else, I can find them". And so, Wanda tells him to find Pietro. And then... the opening credits ensue.

At the sort-of-kind-of rebuilt Institute, Kurt and Evan begin walking to school. Evan's still mad that his "friends" wouldn't stand by him after they found out he was a mutant, so Kurt's like "Well, they probably weren't your real friends, in that case". This is pretty ironic, coming from the guy who hides his mutation and didn't stand by his friends in the last episode. And so, Evan points this out by saying that Kurt's friends wouldn't stand by him either if he went to school all blue and furry. Kurt doesn't like this and bamfs off. Meanwhile, Sunspot's on the roof charging up, then the New Mutants work with Beast and Storm to clear the debris out of the Institute. As they're doing this, Scott and the others run off to go to school, and as they drive out, a construction crew drives in.

And now, back at the Brotherhood House, Todd hops around in Pietro's Quicksilver uniform (creeeeepy), and Lance gets mad and tries to make him stop. Todd and Freddy get annoyed with Lance's role as leader, but he's like "We have to keep the house clean or Mystique'll kill us if she comes back!" So, they "clean" the room by trashing all of Pietro's stuff, and Lance says he never wants to see the lil fruity lad again... and tells Todd to take off Pietro's clothes. Todd doesn't wanna, so he hops to Wanda's room, but she's not there. Lance then yanks off the uniform and gets an eyeful and naked Todd :D

Meanwhile, somewhere else, Wanda gets off a bus and finds Pietro reading a newspaper in a diner. She confronts him and asks where their daddy is, so Pietro's like "He-- Bye! *zip!*", but is stopped by Wanda's powers. She decides to trap him in a box and says that she'll make Magneto come to her, then. Poooor Speedy. And so, police drive up to the diner, crash into a lamp post in order to avoid hitting the box which contains Pietro, and decide to... arrest him or take him into custory or something.

Back in Bayville, Principal Kelly expells Lance and his buddies. Lance gets pissed off and doesn't understand, seeing as how he was in invited back in the first place, and it seems like Kelly just wanted him to screw with the X-Men. Kelly's like "Eh, just go away", so Lance makes the ground shake and traps Kelly with his desk, then leaves. Oustide, he runs into stupid lame-ass Gambit, who's like "I's a comin' for ya later" or something, I dunno. I wasn't really paying attention to this scene.

Cut to Rogue, who's trying to mind her own business as dumb girls walk by and make comments about her, and then she overhears some dudes trying to pick on Evan, saying they'll pull the spikes out one by one or something. Rogue steps in and they call her "skunk head" and push her away. Evan spikes up, so they run like doofuses, and Rogue tells him to unspike, but for a while he can't. She then runs off to chase them, but as she's doing so, they run into stupid lame-ass Gambit, who makes their pencil explode and scares them away. She asks him what he's doing here, he says "Blahblahblah, chere" in his non-accent, and walks off. Kitty joins Rogue and wonders what that was all about, so Rogue's like "Let's cut class and follow him!" And follow him they do.

At the Brotherhood House, Todd's still in Pietro's clothes, and Freddy's trying to pack a lotta crap into a closet in order to clean the house. Lance shakes the house as he comes home, which makes a mess, and he warns them that stupid lame-ass Gambit's coming by. A card's tossed in the room, and they run. Being perfect or omething, Gambit single-handedly beats the Brotherhood Boys and tells Lance he'd better listen... or Todd goes "boom!". He tells them that Magneto's giving them a chance to prove themselves to him by busting Pietro out of captivity, and they'd better not turn Magsie down. The Brotherhood, in response, looks surprised.

And so, the jeep drives off, and Rogue and Kitty follow by "hitching rides" (that is, phasing into the backs of trucks). So, they do this for a while, changing cars to stay going in the same direction as the boys. Meanwhile, in some army truck, Pietro's behind bars. Near the army trucks is Lance's jeep and, consequently, the Brotherhood. The girls find this. Freddy and Todd talk about how at least the upside to this is that they'll be in Magneto's team, but Lance just wants to get his hands on Pietro. And so, he avalanches the army trucks. The army guys get their tazers out and call for help, but Todd takes the communicator thingie from them and Freddy trashes the trucks. Rogue and Kitty hop into battle and Rogue absorbs Lance's powers while Pietro's taunting Freddy from inside the truck. Reaaaal smart, boy. The trucks slip and Pietro almost falls off a cliff, but Kitty phases him outta the car. He calls her slowpoke and runs off. Meanwhile, Wanda's watching all this and says "Another time". The boys drive off, the army guys thank Kitty and Rogue, and the girls leave.

The Brotherhood boys are later relaxing around the house. Lance plays the guitar!! Todd can write with his feet! Y'see, these boys do have hidden talents... Anyway, Gambit ruins the otherwise good scene by showing up and saying "You're all losers. Magneto doesn't like you. You're not part of the group. Nyah nyah. By the way, you're under new leadership". Here, Rosiel screams "PYRO!" despite the fact that he's probably dead or in Australia or the shiny metal ball he was in during the season finale malfunctioned and sent him somewhere else, and Pietro shows up looking all crazy (lookit his eyes!) and power-craaaazy. Almost as good as Pyro. The BH's about to thrash him (Lance, don't hurt your guitar!), but he zips to a chair and says that you mess with him, you mess with daddy. Then he says that they're gonna take down the X-Men permanently (why? WHY? They're not even a real obstacle at the moment! You're wasting your time if you try and it's just going to MAKE you lose!! AAAGH!). And then he says that the house needs to be cleaned. And Gambit leaves... and gets hit by a truck (if only).

Back to the girls. Rogue apologizes to Prof and Scott about the whole thing, and says that it's her fault because she dragged Kitty into it. The Prof and Scott are like "you had dumb actions, but good motives", and tells them that they can't run off for every problem... and that they have Saturday detention for skipping 6th period (I'm surprised Principal Kelly didn't go "MUTANTS CUT SCHOOL! You're EXPELLED!!!"). Kitty gets all "I knew it! Argh!" and storms off. Rogue, Professor X, and Scott all share happy smiles.

The ennnnd!

Brotherhood Moments: Pretty much the entire ep :D

My Opinion: Ohh my... The Brotherhood's redeemed itself in this ep!! I love Lance again, almost as much as I did in Season 1!! This is a good thing!! And he plays the guitar!!! And PIETRO! PIEEETRRROOOO!! Ahh I love the fruit from hell... Of course, Gambit was annoying and stupid, but not as annoying and stupid as I expected him to be. Actually, the thing that annoys me most about him (besides the way he looks) is his voice. I mean... okay. Before the ep aired, I was joking with somebody that it'd be funny if they didn't give him an accent yet still made him use a bunch of Cajun words.. uh.. yeah. I didn't expect them to actually DO it, but it looks like they did... Also, I'm very VERY glad that the writers didn't do the "Rogue is in love with Gambit even though they only met once before and never spoke and she spent two seasons liking Scott" thing that I reaaally thought they would do. So ha!! No Remy/Rogue! No Remy accent! No good looks on Remy! I feel gooood...

Also, I love Wanda more and more. Moooore and moooore... She rocks! And Kitty and Rogue hanging out was quite cool. Y'see, contrary to what some people think, I really DO like Kitty, I just don't like her with Lance because it's stupid. Anywho... very good episode. I was beginning to grow apathetic towards the Brotherhood (and, consequently, my site), but this ep redeemed them seriously :D

Rating (out of 5): 5! I was almost dreading this ep because I thought the BH would be as dumb as they'd been in the last ep, but they weren't!

BH Babble:

Coming later because I have plans right now and am in a big hurry
