Episode 19: Adrift

Introducing: Femme-Kurt O.o

The Gist of It: This is an action-packed episode, and since I can't write action very well, this is gonna be super-summarized! Okay! This also may be out of order... Anyway, Scott's hanging on a Hawaiian beach while Alex surfs and they talk through some nifty laptop technical stuff, all the while blissfully unaware of the big storm that's coming. And so, Alex gets swept out to sea, and Scott's like: *strikes a heroic, yet very responsible pose* "I'll call the coast guard!" buuut Alex is like "Nah, man, just come out and get me." And so, Scott does aaaand... wackiness ensues.

Oh yeah, and all the while during this episode, in between scenes of Scott and Alex drifting around, getting lost, finding each other, getting hit by more badness, and such, there's lots of pointless fluff scenes at the Institute! Whee! I'll just summarize them all at once here. First off, Kitty's in her room and she gets a call. It's Lance.... yeah... Lance... asking to take her to the mall.

.......

.......

Yeah. Anyway, she's like "Er, I'll call you back" because a suddenly very buff Kurt appears in her doorway. Turns out he's been messing with his image inducer, so we see fat Kurt, super deformed Kurt, etc. And uh... oh yeah, the new mutants have a snow ball fight, Hank shows them how to REALLY have a snowball fight, Jean hears about the storm on the news, blaaah blah! Essentially, she calls Alex stupid... etc.

Back at sea! Anything bad that could happen pretty much does ;D It's humorous and springs many a "Gilligan's Island" joke. Orr... uh... in my case "Savage Island" because of a stupid joke that spawns from Quicksilver #9. But, despite harships, Scott and Alex are found by the Rescue Dudes in Helicopters-- but then lightening strikes the helicopter and the rescue guys are stuck at sea. See! Anything bad that can happen does! But, Jean, the Professor, Storm, and... Logan? I can't remember if he's with them, but if he is, he's no help, anyway. Anyway, they come to the rescue in the Blackbird and pick up Scott and Alex-- after, of course, fighting off a funnel wind thing that the boys get stuck in because of their horrible luck.

In the end, of course, everything's okay. :D Scott's being nursed to health by... Jean... The new mutants are all exhausted and ruined the happy snowiness... uh, Kurt gets his image inducer "fixed" by the professor. Basically, this happens: he puts it back on, walks into the room where Scott and Jean is and they start giggling and calling him "Ma'am". He checks in the mirror and it turns out he looks like a chick. Xavier's like "Sorry, couldn't help myself." Dirty old man ;P And then everyone laughs. The end.

Brotherhood Moments: Well, we at least know that Lance isn't dead... but we don't see him or any of them. And we probably won't see them in "African Storm", the next new episode *grumble mumble*. I like Storm in the comics/old cartoon and all, but she's too... dull in Evo (well, maybe she'll be less so in the next ep. I mean, I DID like her in The Cauldron, so maybe it'll be like Ass-Kickin' Storm again)! I WANT the BH back!

My Opinion: Despite the lack of BH and my bias towards them, I liked this ep a lot! Scott!! Alex!! They were drawn very well in this ep, in my opinion... So cute! So very very cute! And... Berzerker is strangely growing on me, despite the fact that he does NOTHING! I dunno, just when I saw all the new mutants exhausted and stuff, I was like "He's so adorable-- whaa?! What did I say?!" Ehehehhh. Ohh and I didn't really like the ending. This is because I'm not a Kurt fan, never will be, and it played out like a bad sitcom. Just look at it! The cheezy laughing-in-unison thing and... and.. all I could think was "X-Men gone Full House!! Run away!" *sigh* It was kinda cute, though, I'll give ya that.

Ohhh yeah, and I'm really not liking the Lance/Kitty thing now. I liked it before, yes, when he was using her and being naughty :P Now he's being like "Duhuhuhuh, I like Kitty... huhuhuh. Even though it really makes no sense when you look at it, huhuhuh." I can't see ANY logical basis behind any potential relationship they could have! It'd be like Rogue going after Duncan, that's how illogical the pairing seems! Now, one may argue "Blah, love doesn't have logic, stupid bitch, so accept the Latty or whatever the hell it's called! Welcome to the future, mwahaha, slash has no place in it! MWAHAHAAaAA!" or something like that, but since this is a crush we're talking about and not love, I can use my argument. :P I dunno, to me it seems just out of character. Maybe it's because I'm so used to Canon-Avalanche never flirting (well, he had a wife, but one wonders if she really exists, or he made her up to sound cool to the other guys ;P Or to hide his affair with St. Jo-- bad Rosiel!), but then again, I don't think of the two as the same character. And no, I'm not disliking the relationship because of my preference for slash. I just plain don't like the pairing AT ALL. Blah! Yargh! No more thinkage!

Rating (out of 5): Um... 4?

BH Babble:

: Well, we now know that Lance is alive...
: >.< And being STUPID!
: Aww, you're just jealous!
: Grrr!!!
: O.O; Eep.
: *waltzes in singing Barbie Girl because Kitty's horrible influence over him is finally taking its toll* I'm a barbie girl, in a barbie woooorld! Life in plastic! It's fantastic!
: *twitch twitch* Destroy him.
: With pleasure!
: Hey, guys, now that Lance is being stupid, does this mean you don't hate me anymore? Because that'd be like so cool and stuff and you know!
: She said the "like" word.
: Time to die.
: O.O; Not again! *is chased off by an irate Pietro*
