Episode 26: Walk on the Wild Side (yes, I know it's actually like... Episode 17 or something)

Introducing: A bunch of random people

The Gist of It: The episode opens up with Scott going down to check on some of Jean and Magma's training, or something like that. I can't remember. Anyway, Jean's giving the lil girl some pointers on melting things and teamwork and stuff, then they get into a fix and Scott rescues them with his trusty eye-beams! Of course, rather than thank Scott for saving them from falling rocks, Jean and Amara enter bitch mode. This is nothing new with Jean, of course, as she often displays bitchiness then wonder why Scott and Taryn are together.

Anywho, cut to a scene of the Brotherhood House. Lil Toddle's taking a shower, so of course Boom Boom has to crash in, invade his privacy, and use up the mouthwash before blasting him in the shower. Yes. And she teases Freddy and steals Lance's car. Umm, Pietro's not present in this scene because.... I think he knows to disappear whenever Boom Boom's around. Good ol' Pietro! Anyway, back at the school, it's Amara's first day, so Kitty gives her some pointers and they go about their business (like uh... going to class and stuff). In class, Amara sees Tabitha and they talk like friends and make plans for later. When school's over, the two go off in Lance's jeep (-_-) while Jean's all worried or something. I think. I wasn't paying too much attention, all I know is she's still in her SuperFeminist! Mode and bitching at all things male when they step within ten feet of her. Anyway, she take's Scott's car and runs off after effectively showing those darn men (Scott 'n Dunc) their place!

And so, Tabby and Amara drive around listening to really corny music, then see two guys stealing a car. Ever the noble vigilantes, they drive off after the guys and... drive. A lady and her kid step into the street-- a sure sign of danger!-- and are almost hit by the car jackers' jacked car. However, Jean's been watching this and she saves the day by using the powers of her mind to stop the car long enough for the lady to run away. Then the car race ensues and leads to an alley or something, I dunno... Basically, Tabby and Amara stop the car jackers, but kinda trash the car they were rescuing in the process. Oopsie! Anywho, Jean pops up and traps the guys, then the girls run away to let the police take it from there.

Next day: (or later the same day) Amara and Jean watch the story on the news about the "mysterious strangers" who stopped the car thieves (who are a part of a bigger gang). They decide not to tell anyone, and then...

AN ATROCIOUS MUSIC VIDEO ENSUES! Yes. I'll sum this hideous piece of crap up as short as I can: bad pseudo-rock music, numerous shots of Boom Boom's ass, slashy chick grinding, Rosiel loses her appetite, random dancing much like in Disney movies and musicals, Rogue and Kitty join the group, they buy biker-chick outfits and make their hair look bad, Jean looks manly (manly with long red hair... uh... CORTEZ! No, wait... gah, stupid Rosiel), and they fight crime and nobody can figure out their identities. *sigh* The only good part of this "music video" was the really pissed off look Risty/Mystique had while watching Rogue join the ranks of the uber-bitches.

Anyway, the girls fight crime and are dubbed "The Bayville Sirens" (though nobody knows who they are). They walk down the hall in lame slow motion. They are Charlie's Angels ripoffs who don't answer to a man because they are liberated women, damn it! There's more scenes of (well, one more, and I don't remember where it goes) Boom Boom making life hell for the Brotherhood, who should really just kill her... oh, and Scott catches on that the girls are the Sirens and makes plans with Kurt to see them in action! Whoo!

And so, when the girls go off to fight crime, Scott, Kurt, and the Corvette of DOOM!! follow, resulting in a car chase in which the girls lose the guys. They chase another car thief and this time find the car-thief gang's seeecret lair. Ooooh. It turns out to be a trap, and the chicks are surrounded. And so... they fight! And win. And things explode. And Scott and Kurt 'port in, save the day without anybody realizing it, and 'port out; and then the police come and it turns out the girls are under arrest for vigilante justice! Luckily, the cop-lady's really nice and helps them escape, then walks away and transforms into Mystique (duuuh).

And so, the Sirens are no more and Scott and Jean patch things up. The end.

Brotherhood Moments: Two scenes, both pretty much the same, and both Boom Boom infested. Pietro's absent, as usual, Todd's being harrassed in the shower, Freddy gets teased and then loses his hair because the bitch shaved it off while he was sleeping, and Lance hangs out in the kitchen as Tabby steals his car twice.

My Opinion: I still hate Boom Boom. And the entire episode just struck me as freakishly LAME. It was like the episode was trying so hard to be cool that it was just nauseating at times. Well, maybe it wasn't. All I know is that I woke up sick this morning, and so I'm pretty crabby, and the fact that I feel worse after having watched the episode is rather odd. *sigh* Anyway, I didn't really feel much for this episode, except for annoyance whenever Boom Boom reared her ugly head, and bile when they showed that pseudo-music video. Yep. On a lighter note, I LOVE LANCE AGAIN!!! This is probably because I finally got around to posting the first chapter of a Labyrinth/LancexPietro fic last night, so I'm still on a Lance kick. Oh well!

OH YEAH! And the scenes with Scott and Kurt were hilarious!! I adored them!! XD They were definitely my favorite thing about the episode! And now I feel sick again... Damn it...

Rating (out of 5): 3. It wasn't great, but it wasn't total crap either. I'd give it more for the great Scott scenes, but Boom Boom dragged it down ;D
