You may apply for up to three canon characters. You may also mix and match in your application: two canon, one original; one original, one canon; or just one canon or one original. You may only apply for one original character. There are only ten original character spots available. Once those are full, no others will be accepted. If there are too few applications to begin with, spots will be reduced by twos as the situation demands.

You have just settled into your room at the Apling house after a few introductory words from the headmaster and mistress. Besides welcoming you and telling you at what time you are to be up the next day (seven am for teachers, eight am for students), you were informed that you must keep a journal, which you find at the foot of your bed. You may discuss your feelings upon arriving and your expectations for the year, as well as your thoughts on the staff and students. Canon characters must be in character.
Make sure that you have read everything prior to sending in your entry, as your application WILL be screened and judged. (This is especially true for original characters. We don't want Mary Sues or Gary Stues.) The GA is HUGE on grammar, capitalization, spelling, and punctuation, so try your best to do your best, as this will help you more than you think.
