| One vital way to help animals is to support animal-friendly legislation. It's very important that legislators hear from you! Lawmakers need to get input from constituents. Remember, the animal exploitation industries have many lobbyists contacting legislators; if we don't contact them, the exploiters will be the only voices heard when lawmakers make decisions! Please take a few minutes to get familiar with state and federal issues. At any given time, there are pending bills that will affect animals. For every phone call, letter, or email legislators receive, they assume a number of other citizens feel the same way. So, your effort could have a bigger impact than you think. The Humane Society of the United States and its lobbying arm, the Fund for Animals, do a good job monitoring pending legislation.
