We finished out
water mission and created a high standard for all that came after
us. As we left water, we became a Convoy Protection Platform (CPP)
with the 2nd battalion, 44th Air Defense
Regiment under the Alpha Battery. We were kept in one platoon for a
little while then we integrated into the other 5 platoons. The
battery has 6 platoons. However, in the integration there were only
a few soldiers that went to other platoons. The main of the original
3rd platoon, 612 QM stayed in what is known as 5th
platoon. The platoon has done over 25 between 5th platoon
and the other platoons they are located in. We have lost two NCOs.
SGT McCowan and SGT Tumbaco have both left our ranks. SGT McCowan
went to 88M school then on to
FT.
Carson. SGT Tumbaco had
emergency issues and has gone home. 2LT Giles, PFC Salinas, PFC Hagle have
all received promotions since we have been in country. We have had
multiple re-enlistments including: SPC Salinas, SPC Poole, SPC
Vasquez, and others. Most of the original 3rd platoon has
been put in to receive the Combat Action Badge (CAB). The original
platoon has been working very hard and working off odd hours of
sleep. They are doing good and having a fun time.
