| Note: All
quotations are not verbatim. I may have mistakes upon hearing his words.
We must not believe in him?
As far as I know, as a fan, I didnt
see him waive for himself. I cannot recall a word he said that he is the messenger of God
in these last days, or he didnt force anyone to believe in him as a high caliber
person for credibility purposes. He always say to his listeners, "Dont
believe in me, or what I am saying, believe in the truth about salvation from God which
was written in the Bible." Well maybe, spies who are always there watching him
for mistakes often assume that Bro. Eli Soriano is telling the listeners not to hear from
him, and that may prove him that he is not telling the truth. To some people, it may be
very confusing but to a believer its not. Here is a simple way to understand his
teachings and his way of explaining things. Let us analyze the sentence he had just said.
"Dont believe in me, or
what I am saying, believe in the truth about salvation from God which was written in the
Bible."
He said that we must not believe in him, or what he is saying. And
why is that? If we shouldnt believe him, then what is the purpose of his preaching?
First, let us be in context. Let us remember that he is a preacher who's telling us
all that concerns God and salvation. So therefore, we must first believe in the truth
written in the Bible, than to depend on his words. Actually, he was referring to the words
that are written in the Bible. The hint was, he
encourages us to examine the Holy Scriptures and discourages us to believe him without research and thinking. That was the underlying meaning of his statement. And that
was to be the first step in religion. Examine all doctrines of the so-called Christians
around the world before entrusting your soul to a pastor. Bro. Eli is just adhering to the
commandment in the Bible in 1 John 4:1
Beloved,
believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false
prophets are gone out into the world.
And teach them to his listeners. |
