A Chamoru Nation  by Anghet

The statement published in the Guam Tribune in 1991, to proclaim the existence of the Nasion Chamoru. Written by the late Angel Santos it is as powerful and inspiring today as it was more than a decade ago.

Chamorro Soul Wound by Kopbla

Hafa ti annok, sesso mas atdet.  The prices of colonialism are things rarely seen around us. Stuff that is rarely consciously discussed. Part of the colonizing of Guam has been the limits on our discussion, limits on our ideas. Limits which keep us from really questioning our existence, and instead give us the impression that everything is fine just the way it is. But everything is not fine...

Chamorro Patriotism by Tasin Taichina

Guam is often referred to on Guam and outside of Guam, as one of the most patriotic places in America. The huge numbers of Chamorros in the armed services and KIA deaths in the Vietnam conflict are often cited as evidence of this loyal attachment to the American Empire. But is Chamorro patriotism as simple as waving a flag, or coming out for Liberation Day or Veteran's Day? No its far more complicated then that, and the simplistic view of it only seeks to dispel questions about Guam's relationship to the United States.

Pale' Jesus Baza Duenas: Chamorro activist pat American Patriot? by Sahuma

Pale' Jesus Baza Duenas, is one of the central figures of the Tiempon Chapones giya Guahan from 1941 to 1944. Appropriated by different institutions with different agendas, one Chamorro historical heroes has been left with a legacy of the eponym for a prep school and a hardcore football team and as just another patriotic star on the historical American flag of Guam's almost ironically samurai like loyalty to the US during World War II. But what does this obscure? What is being left out of the story? And what are the difficulties in telling this story?

HA'ANI: A new day for the Marianas! by Kaluko-Kephua

A plea for political and cultural unity for the Chamorros of the Marianas Islands.

Guahan yan Israel: Kao umachaigua hit? by Kopbla

Guam has played an integral role in American military strategy for more than a 100 years. Guam's central military importance was cited as the reason for not giving Chamorros citizenship before World War II, and is a central issue for not decolonizing Guam to the present day. If Guam is of such incredible importance to America's defense, why do we receive so little support from the United States? The massive US military and aid support to Israel is because of its strategic importance to the US interests in the Middle East, why can't Guam receive comparable aid, when it serves the same imperial interests?
