I suppose you could say, in the great tradition of Seinfeld, this is a page "about nothing". There is no grand theme or design, no big idea. It is simply my page, about my life, my home, friends, family - stuff I like to do. However, I do hope you enjoy it (otherwise I've used tons of film and spent lots of time scanning pictures and thinking up things to say all for nothing!)
I guess since this is a page about me, maybe I should tell you a little about the person whose life you are taking a peek at. I was born and raised in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. I live in Carroll County, graduated from Galax High School in '99. In high school I was in SADD, NHS, on the English Macc team, Drama Club, and a member of the band. I was one of the band drum majors my junior year, and one of my biggest regrets is that I didn't go for it again my senior year. My senior year I was part of the cast for our One-Act play, "Quilters" which took third place at state level competition and became one of my fondest high school memories.
As I write this I have recently turned 19, and attend Radford University (see College Life). I am a junior Social Work major, and trying for a double minor in psychology and Spanish (then I can analyze people in a foreign language!) I drive a silver '98 Neon Sport named Emma. I love music, reading, writing (maybe one day I'll get brave enough to bare my soul and post some of my writings), movies, The Blue Ridge Parkway, shoes, clothes, taking pictures, driving, blah blah blah....The list goes on and on. I'm known as "that girl who is always smiling" and I love hugs!

"Now for something completely different"
I'm going to use this page to show you a few things that I didn't really want to create individual pages for, but which are part of me nonetheless. Nothing much, and all widely different from each other...aw, just go take a look ;-)

My favorite seasons are spring and fall, I love to be outside then. These two pictures are of a spot on the New River (the second oldest river in the world - just a bit of trivia) out in Grayson County. David, Renae, and I found it one summer evening and it has been one of our favorite warm weather hangouts ever since. There is nothing really special about this spot, in fact its just a simple boat landing. However, there are huge trees on either side of the landing, and underneath both of them grows the softest, tallest grass, always with the perfect amount of breeze blowing. You can lay under these trees and gaze at the river, all that water rolling slowly by. The bank rises about four or five feet above the water and once we watched a water moccasin slither along the bottom of the bank below us for what seemed like forever. Time doesn't exist there, cares or worries have no place there. Its a great place to just soak up sun and peace.

This summer I worked at Cones-N-Coffee in downtown Galax. For those of you who live around here, I'm goin' to do a little advertising (hey, it won't hurt ya, and those brownie points add up, I need a job next summer!) This is the greatest restaurant on Main Street. Sandwiches, soup, bagels, muffins, ice cream - fabulous coffee. There are all kinds of little shops around it, in fact, the Antique Apple Mall and Cones-N-Coffee are in the same building! Also, it took me a little while, but I now know how to make cappuccino, lattes, espresso shots, and any variation thereof, and I am darn good at it! So, if you know when I'm working, come see me & I will hook you up! During the course of the summer I met an adorable young lady, whose grandmother ran a shop across the street. Her name is Emilee and she quickly became my "little sister" for 3 months. Here's a picture of us in the shop:

One of my favorite things about high school was prom. I am lucky enough to have been to four of them, one of the most memorable being the prom I went to after I had already graduated. My good friends, Samantha and Brandon were there and I was dating a really nice guy. We went out to dinner with a huge group of people, did the whole promenade thing, and Samantha and I kicked off our shoes and danced till we could barely stand. So, even though this person and I have long since gone our separate ways, it was still a beautiful night and a great memory.
Of all my prom dresses, I loved this one the most.
And here are our formal pictures.
Of course, the picture on the left is my date & I, on the right are Brandon & Samantha.
