It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses...
Hit it.

That's right friends and neighbors, The Blues Brothers.

More definitively (thats a big word that I might just have made up).... More definitively, the Blues Brothers' car. The Bluesmobile... theirs was a 1974 Dodge Monaco, 440 c.i. Police Package (pictured).

Mine is going to be a 1974 Plumouth Fury III, with its original 57,000 mile 400 c.i.. it will have the same paint, same interior and be just a little bit better on gas.

Moving on, up 2 years to 1976...
Here we have a 1976 Volkswagen Type II Camper, 2000cc fuel injected 4 cylinder, manual transmission, ready to go for summer... photo is for illustrative purposes only.. mine is in dire need of a fresh coat of paint and just enough engine work to make it run the way it should... I'm experiencing a lack of horsepower.

In the back of the garage is a very nice "Charcoal Green" 1982 Corvette, 350, auto, tan leather interior... and although it runs excellent now, I could complain for hours on end about the CrossFire Injection system that is on the car.

I recently brought home a 1968-ish chrysler boat.. so I can be dangerous on the land and in the water now... be it known that from this day forth, I am the lord and master of "Johnson's Yacht Club".

Possibilites.... for the near future

One of my associates spoke to me on the matter of a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis, I'll be out this very evening to scope it out and see if it's worth the $0 he's asking for it.

If that very vehicle can be made road worthy in a short amount of time with very little effort or expense on my behalf, it may too become a replica Chicago police-cruiser... I can have someone chase the Plymouth around in it.

Another possibility for the future is the acquisition of a 1973 Ford LTD... a very nice, very large vehicle... the current owner purchased it only to drive for a few weeks and pull the engine for yet another Mustang project. I have decided to offer them $20 for the remainder of the car after the engine is out, only to place in the engine bay a 400 cubic inch Ford powerplant mated to a nice C6 transmission.
