If you've seen Animal House, you probably have the idea that Fraternities are just big party houses that are only home to people like Bluto here.
In reality, the days of Animal House life are gone. Fraternities have reformed themselves into organizations that provide and promote friendship, scholastic achievement, and leadership opportunities.
House parties, in fact, are strictly regulated by the University, and designates from each and every Fraternity have to attend the University's alcohol awareness training program.
Also, many of the Fraternities on campus have 'dry houses,' meaning no alcohol allowed. In houses that aren't dry, parties are monitored by plenty of sober people.
All of this doesn't mean that Fraternities don't have fun. We still have lots of good times, but in a safe and responsible fashion. After all, school isn't cheap, and we don't feel like flunking out.
