At over 89 hectares (about fify city blocks), the University campus can feel a little intimidating. Fraternities make the campus feel smaller by providing a strong network of people you know. Walk anywhere on campus and you're bound to run into a Fraternity member.
Fratnerity members also occupy many of the important jobs on campus. They are leaders in the Students' Union, in countless student groups, and are known by the University administration. The Fraternity system even has an appointed liaison, Dr. Robert Steadward, a Kappa Sigma alumnus, who provides a crucial and valuable lin between your Fraternity and the University of Alberta.
