This is Cricket, our precious Chi-baby. She had the best personality of any Chihuahua we'd ever had, and truly was a good ambassador for the breed. She would gladly let strangers hold her and pet her, disproving the myth that Chis are "snappy and mean".
Cricket loved to play, especially with our Rat Terrier, Sam. The two were inseparable, and they did everything together. When Sam went blind in 1999, Cricket acted as her eyes, guiding her around the house and yard.
When Cricket passed away suddenly in the fall of 2000, it was a tremendous shock to our family. She had touched our lives in such a way that we were inspired to rescue and foster homeless Chihuahuas in her memory. It is because of Cricket that Tiny, DJ, Maggie and several other Chihuahuas' lives were saved.
