	The Lean-To Museum & Archives is located at the Community & Cultural Complex in Fort Vermilion. The Fort Vermilion Agricultural Society, the Fort Vermilion Recreation Board and the Curling Club cooperated in order to obtain funds for the construction of Fort Vermilion's first community museum and archives. As settlers did in days of old, an economical lean-to was added to an existing structure (the arena). Opened in 1995, the facility has proven its worth as an attraction, an information resource and a place of learning. The goals are to make it a notable institution for the preservation and researching of northern Alberta heritage. Patrons of all ages enjoy the artifacts and textual records housed within the museum. Student employees and volunteer’s record, exhibit and interpret the growing collections being received from donors.
