| President's Welcome Address On behalf of the Forestville Military Academy PTSA, its Executive Board and members, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new principal, Mr. James Smallwood, our incoming freshman, all returning students, faculty and staff and most of all our parents to the 2005-2006 School Year. As always it is an honor to be working side-by-side with teachers and parents who are diligently devoted and committed to working together to promote and provide quality education for our students. The Parent Teacher Student Association is about parents, teachers, students and community leaders coming together in order to enrich our students learning experiences. The Forestville Military Academy PTSA encourages all parents to play an active role in there child's education. When parents serve as volunteers, they become aware of some of the challenges facing our school system. Parents can provide more support for school programs, improve home and school communication, and have a greater feeling of ownership in their school. Your talents, ideas, and support are greatly needed. I cannot emphasize enough the powerful impact parental involvement has on a child's education. Therefore, I urge all FMA parents to consider volunteering their time and energy to support the activities of the Parent Teachers Student Association (PTSA). We are looking forward to a full year of enrichment programs and activities! If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact us at (301) 817-0400, e-mail [email protected] or visit our website www.geocities.com/forestvilleptsa. |
