Fontenada Chapter



WELCOME TO FONTENADA CHAPTER, NSDAR

Our chapter was organized on March 12, 1958, with seventeen members, including the following officers: Organizing Regent Mrs. Frank S. Montgomery, Vice Regent Mrs. John Keast, Chaplain Mrs. Najel Lawrence, Recording Secretary Mrs. Harold Johnson, Corresponding Secretary Mrs. Ralph Loomis, Treasurer Mrs. Leonard Montgomery, Registrar Mrs. Palmer Bigelow, Historian Mrs. Donald Wilson, and Librarian Mrs. Clella Ingersoll.

The chapter name, "Fontenada," was derived from the autobiography, "Memoirs of Hernando de'Esdalante Fontaneda," who recorded the first written history of early Florida.
