Q is my heart dog.  I cannot thank Lisa Giroux, of K9Station Dog Training and AuxArcs Aussies, for entrusting me with this precious boy!!

Since he was a baby puppy he had the look of Eagles, or a wise old man in a puppy suit.  Q is an outstanding dog.  He has tons of drive to excel in any dogsport area.  He is training in agility, flyball, and disc.  It is only from the lack of dogsport resources in Newfoundland that we have not competed at a competitive level yet.

Q is smart on a whole new level.  Show this boy something once, and he got it.  Though he is willing to work 24/7 if you asked him, he has an amazing off switch in the house.  Quite time he spends sleeping by my feet.

Q @ 4 years old, freestacked.  Frenchman's Cove, NL. Fall, 2008.

Structurally, he is a VERY nice dog!  He has a great rear, front, level topline, head, expression.  To top it all off he moves like a dream.  Though he is an outstanding built dog, I believe no dog is perfect.  I do wish he had more neck, and his muzzle is slightly longer then it should be.  As well, his ears are set slightly higher than I like.

Q has a beautiful moderate dark liver coat.  He has a nice amount of bone for my taste, but less than what is currently popular in the show ring.  Despite his lack of bone, as some would say, he is never mistaken for a girl.  He is a very masculine looking dog.  Q was a very late maturing dog, like his Father and his Grandfather before him.

Q is a CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) Champion.  He placed in the group almost every time.  He won BOB (Best of Breed), his first time out at 9 months old, over a Special, and then took BPIG (Best Puppy In Group) over some very nice dogs.

Since then, Q has won several BOB, BPIG, 3rd in Groups, 2nd in Groups, and BIG (Best In Group).  Usually placing above specials every time.

Since Q received his CKC Ch. title we have only been to 1 show weekend.  We may do some showing in the future for fun, but right now we plan to focus on dogsports to show off his versatility.  We hope to enlist in some performance classes after our move to Alberta.

Q @ 4 years, Frenchman's Cove, NL. Fall, 2008.

Q made a trip to Ottawa in Fall 2006 to train with Pam Casselman.  He got to work in agility, flyball, and disc.  Pam thought he showed great promise, and gave us lots of exercises to work on when we went back to Newfoundland.

I have decided to retrain Q on his jumping style in agility as he started to knock bars Summer 2008.  This summer/Fall I learned about collective jump, which teaches the dog to collect his rear; making the dog jump more carefully - hence no knocking bars.  Q has just started this training Fall 2008, and will resume the Summer 2009.  If we can stop him from knocking bars, he will be ready to compete at all levels very soon.

Q and I both really have a love for the sport of competitive obedience.  Once we are settled in Alberta, I hope to find a positive methods, competitively trained obedience class.  We hope to train and trial for his CD (Companion Dog) title in 2009.

As well, we have heard great things about the sport of Rally - O, and plan to look into things more when we get to our new home.

One of Q’s favourite pass times is dog sledding, skijoring, & bikejoring.  He is a pull demon, and gets along with any dog you hitch next to him.

Lawrence is planning on getting a new dogsled this winter, and he's looking forward to hooking Q, and Ryder up in 2009.

Last year, Ryder & Q were starting to mesh well as team leaders; working together at a nice pace, and constantly pulling.  We hope they will continue to do well in 2009 once they get into condition.

Q has had only two exposures to stock, sheep, at a weekend clinic in Nova Scotia. He passed his Herding Instinct Certified test, and worked in a one day clinic. He showed interest, and would listen to direction from me. I'm looking forward to working with him more in small pens. Q's parents and several siblings have worked stock and are great capable chore dogs.

Q has sired one litter of pups in 2006.  We have recently decided not to stand him as stud to outside girls, as we really do not want to go through all the trouble.  If we were inquired by an outstanding female, proven in a variety of venues, and it would be a cross we would want a pup from then we would be willing to reconsider.  However, until then we hope to train and earn some new titles.

One day, in the very distant future, he may be used with our Winslow's girl, Talon, so we can keep a progeny of him, as I can't picture my life without a piece of him in it.
