This page contains photographs and information of airboat tours available in east central Florida. Sometimes close enough to the wild alligators that you can touch them.

The music is "Jamming" and it loops three times.

AIRBOAT

Alligators
Are there really alligators in the wilds of Florida?
By the way - this is not a petting zoo!

That is not one alligator repeated many times. There are three alligators in the pictures.

The bird house is to help the smaller birds increase their numbers. The bird houses are found in most unlikely places around the swamp.

Where The Tour Starts And Ends

The Lone Cabbage is a fish camp and restaurant that has found a way to bring in tourists. Airboat rides into the swamps of the Saint Johns river basin to see the alligators and the local scenery. The alligators are fed a few pieces of bread to entice them to approach the airboat so we tourists can see the creatures up very close and personal. You are close enough to touch them, but touching them could cause you to drive home one handed.

On the day these pictures were taken the water level was a bit higher than normal.

We have no connection with the Lone Cabbage other than we like the food there.
