Northern Region

The North is the Largest Region in Ghana. With Tamale as the
Capital and the Epicenter of most Business Transactions
among the Upper East and West and across the border, it's a very
busy place compared to the other surrounding environs. In Tamale,
there is the usual leather goods and other handicrafts in
the Market places.
Mole National Park is made up of Savannah and rocky outcrops
taht are home to 93 species of mammal, including herds of
elephants, buck and small palin game. The Occasional Lion and
Leopard can be seen resting after a kill and the range of
birdlife is considerable. Larabanga Mosque which was built in the
13th Century by Moorish traders is one of the Holiest sites in
Ghana.It's distinct facade has been widely photographed.
Daboya is a 16th Century town from the Gonja Kingdom
and it's a famous source for hand-made textiles. Salaga was the
Transit point of slaves during the Slave Trade. Leg Pegs Can
still be seen in the Salaga Market as a Testimony to a Course of
Human History.
