Ashanti Region
 

The term "Ashanti" refers to a sector of Ghanaian Society that was founded by King Osei Tutu in the 17th Century.The Golden Kingdom as it is referred to because of it's  riches  in Gold is one of the strongest in Ghana and West Africa as a whole.Valuing their Traditions,the Kingdom is still ruled by a King,Otumfuo Osei Tutu the Second.Manhyia Royal Palace is the Seat of the Ruling King,and the PowerHouse of Ashanti Authority.Okomfo Anokye was the most Spiritual Leader of the Ashanti.He chanted the Golden Stool from the Sky during the King Osei Tutu's reign.Ashanti is the Cradle of Tradition.

EJISU BESEASE Traditional buildings,traditional religions and Nana Yaa Asantewaa is what represents Ejisu Besease.The most prominent Ashanti women,was the QueenMother of Ejisu when she led the Revolution  against   the British in 1901.It was the most aggresive wars ever fought in Ghana.Her strength and Rebellion represents the strength of African Women.The traditional buildings of Ejisu are so old and they depict the True Ashanti Architecture,they are classified as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations.

LAKE BOSOMTWE In all of Africa,the Ashanti Region boast of one the World's Largest Natural Lakes formed by the impact of meteorites.The Lakeside is more fun during Officila National Holidays when  most workers and Students come to relax and have fun.Even the trip itself is Scenic.With rollling hills all over,you can't resist the edge to take Memorable Pictures.Lake Bosomtwe provides conditions for relation,water based activities such as angling,boating and mountain Climbing.It is safe to swim in the Lake.

ADAE KESE FESTIVALWhen in Kumasi,Land of Tradition,there is always something to do.If you are culturally inclined,then the Adae Kese Festival is where you ought to be at.The  Adae Kese Festival is held to climax celebrations of specific milestones and achievements of the Ashanti Kingdom.It was first celebrated to mark the attainment of Statehood from the Denkyiras after the "Battle of Feyiase" between 1697 and 1699.This festival serves as the platform for pledging allegiance to the Kingdom and to affirm loyalty to the Occupant of the Golden Stool which represents the Unity and Embodiment of all Ashanti.
