Accra is the Home of the Gas, they were the first to settle along the Atlantic Coast in towns like Osu,Teshie Nungua,Tema,Chorkor Jamestown and other places as wide as the Shai and Osudoku If you want to experience the real Ga Way of Life, visit Chorkor and Jamestown on any given day.

Makola Market is one of the largest in the nation with all major business transactions taking place there.The Market serves as a Distribution Centre for Goods and Services to corners of Ghana.The Accra Arts Centre is the Mecca of Ghanaian Artefacts and Crafts. There are wide collections of Kente, Wood Carvings, Textiles from Different West African Countries,all major Souvenirs. When you visit the Arts Centre, make sure you bargain for everything to get the best deal.If Historical Icons are your curiosity, visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, which shares walls with Arts Centre and is the resting home of Ghana's First President and the Most Illustrious Son of Africa. A few minutes on the outskirts of Accra is the Shai Games Reserve where you can spot Mountain Monkeys, Antelopes and other Wildlifes in their Natural Habitats. In August,there is the Celebration of the Homowo Festival,which symbolises the Gas's experience of overcoming hunger during the early days of  their Settlement. A special meal called "Kpekple" is prepared and spread all over the towns with the belief that Hunger will never ever come their way. Transportation in and around Accra and other regions of the country is easy.There are Buses ("Trotro") and taxis plying all the City and hinterlands. There are also Rental Car Companies who provide services for those who want a Cross Country Rendevouz. Always remember to bargain to get the good deals.

Back in Accra, you can visit the Ghana Museum (Barnes Road) which has a diverse collections of Artefacts. The University of Ghana, one of the first and prominent in Post Colonial West Africa till this Day. The National Theatre where there is always a show going on. The George Padmore Library,The W.E.B DuBois Centre, The Accra Zoo,FlagStaff House,(The Seat of the First President). With Major International Banks and Forex Bureau all over town, changing money is easy. For the French Speaking Visitor. You can visit theAlliance Francaise. Ghana is catching the www bug so there are also high speed Internet Cafes in town where you can mail family and friends back home on the wonderful time you are having in Ghana.

If you the Hip & Restless type, you can take on the town for the NightLife. In Osu, there are so many NightClubs and JazzClubs to hang out. When you done clubbing and you feel hungry, hop into any of the many Continental, Local.Far Eastern, Cross Atlantic  Restaurants on Oxford Street to fill your stomach. The Labadi Beach provides an Avenue for Relaxation for tourists and locals  mostly on Sundays. You will have so much fun at Labadi with Live Concerts and Performances. People will always be ready to give you directions to places, but in case you don't remember where to head towards, juut take  a trotro to Kwame Nkrumah Circle to start all over. Visit the Accra Visitors Centre for Information on what's happening in the City when and where and don't forget to pick up a map of Accra..
