Koforidua being the Regional Capital,the Eatern Region is a rich blend of dramatic landscapes and historic relics.Striking landscapes are overlooked by the Krobo Mountains an dthe Akwapim Ridge and the countryside is  a great walking country.Lake Volta,one of the Largest man made lakes in the world.From Akosombo,Ghana gets it's HydroElectric Power.

Aburi Botanical Gardens was started by the Bristish in 1897 atop the Aburi Mountains.It's a very wide Park which holds so many wild species of fauna and flora and it's one of the most relaxing place in Ghana where people come together.Tetteh Quarshie was the the man who brought Cocoa to Ghana and his house is in Mampong,standing as a Testimony to a life which has changed lives.Akonedi Shrine in Larteh on the Akwapim Ridge is the fetish shrine of traditional healing and religious ceremonies.

The Slave Market of Abonse traces the 17th  and 18th Century slave market can stil be seen in a town that was an important crossroads on the Slave Route.60km from Koforidua is Okomfo Anokye's Shrine  which is dedicated to the Legendary priest credited with the founding of the Ashanti Empire.Boti Falls is spectacular but seasonal  and is located in the Forst reserve at Huhunya..Odwira and Ohum Festivals are celebrated from September to January.
