Brong Ahafo Region

Brong Ahafo is the great Agricultural
region of Ghana,often regarded as our breadbasket as apart frm
it's extensive forests reserves and cocoa plantations,it has
considerable acreages of food crops.Sunyani is the Regioanl
Capital.The people of the region have been farmers for
generations.Of particular interest in many villages will be the
traditional healers who use herbal medicines to cure wide
varieties of ailments.
Techiman is the famous
Catholic monastery of .Tuobodom.Kintampo Falls are hidden away
in the woods close to the Kumasi Kumasi/Kintampo highway.The
Geographical Centrre of Ghana is a spot pinpointed close by the
Kintampo town.Boabeng-Fiema Sanctuary is home to many families
of Colobus and Mona monkeys,which are held sacred by the local
people.Visitors taking the forest walks,along shaded trails,are
rewarded with sightings of many birds,butterflies and
indigeneous flowers and trees.
Boama,the village of Nsuta is famous for the
production of Kyenkyen,a local folkweave cloth.The History
and Culture of Brong Ahafo comes alive if youyou visit the Hani
archaelogical site 50km from Wenchi,inhabited by the Benghos
about 1200 BC, and the Kwaku Fri Shrine at Nwoase6km from
Wenchi.This Shrine is only accessible to visitors on Wednesdays
and Sundays.
