Let's put our
house in order...
Dear Charter Officers and members,
 Meaningful service
awaits us. The initial fact finding and consultative meetings that we had with barangay officials and community leaders of
Bgy. Masambong, with the participation of the QC Red Cross, showed that the immediate problem of the barangay is constant flooding
and the evacuation of affected families to the covered tennis court every time it rains hard.
This
makes the problem is predictable and quantifiable. It is possible for us to determine the volume of relief goods, medicine and other things
needed to prepare. This way we can help in alleviating the suffering of affected families during heavy rains and in the height of the coming
typhoons.
The
support and presence of QC Red Cross in our activities and its willingness to enter into a MOA and work with us is an
indication that it is taking our club seriously as a partner in community service. It also means, however, that there is already work
for us to do; and we can only do our share in helping those in need if we put our house in order.
Let's us Break the Impasse. Discussions had been provided on the impact of the sudden shift in the nature and
direction of our club. I believe they are ample enough to warrant that whatever reservations we may have after what happened will be
properly addressed and allow us to function effectively as required.
I
strongly suggest that you study the proposed adjustments in our club's administration, express your opinions, and help in making them work.
We have to recover as a group as quickly as we can, and work as a team as soon as possible. For the challenges that our
club must face and contend with have already been identified and are staring at us straight in the eyes.
Let
us stand tall and carry the cudgels of the Rotarian spirit that we imposed on ourselves to uphold. Let us pursue the Rotarian
motto of "SERVICE Above Self".
We
encourage you to actively participate in our club's activities and in doing community service. Let us get out of our narrow shells and
proceed to touch other people's lives and work for their welfare.
The poor and the needy in Bgy. Masambong awaits our concerned hearts. Let us make a difference by turning
Bgy. Masambong into a model community with the help of our Comm-Dev Partners.
As I have said sometime in the past: We all embark in a journey that would
stretch our humanity to the fullest. If we persevere to the end, we will discover ourselves to have become far more better persons than what
we may think we already are, for truly they also profit most who serve best.
