WELCOME TO ENGLISH 4A
Macbeth Seminars, Searches, MLA guide, Canadian Author links
Flanders

So foul and fair a site
I have not seen!

Doodly...

This webpage project is the first of its kind for the English department at this school. Students were asked to research topics on Macbeth and create webpages that effectively outlined their information.

The focus of the assignment was not only to discuss the topic, but to present it creatively in webpage format using Netscape Composer or actual HTML. Students were able to use their skills in research, literary insight, computers, and artistry to produce their final products.

We discussed the benefits and drawbacks to on-line research and evaluated a few sites. They were then asked to peer evaluate each other's work based on criteria discussed in class. They did a great job!

Click here to check out their seminars or use the chalkboard on the left.

This page serves several purposes:
  • Students can link to the play, various search engines, an MLA style guide, as well as Canadian authors for their research in this class and in others.

  • They may access their seminar topics anytime for essay and exam preparation.

  • They have a "published" version of their work that can be shared with friends and family anytime.

  • Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it was a lot of fun putting together a website, in addition to the educational benefits...
