Food to Feed a Flower Horn
Food Info
There are many different types of food source for your Flower Horn and it is happy to note that Flower Horn loves all kinds of food.

Bloodworm is a very nutritious food source and the Flower Horn would gladly consume tons of it before it is satisfied. Nowadays it is very common to find frozen bloodworm from your local aquarium dealers. Young Flower Horns around 1 to 2 inches are best fed with bloodworm.

Pellets containing vitamins, colour enhancers and growth enhancers are also widely used here. These food source not only enhances your Flower Horns colours but it also supplies nutrition example vitamins to your Flower Horns to strenghten its immune system.

Small fishes like goldfish and guppies are mainly given to bigger Flower Horns. However this food source is rather expensive as compared to pellets.

Freshwater shrimps (prawns) is more or less the same as small fishes in terms of price however please remember to take out the dead shrimps as some of these dead shrimps contains bacteria and worms which will cause harm to the digestive system of your Flower Horn.

Beefheart can also be fed to your Flower Horn but this food source pollutes the water rather quickly. If beefheart is fed, regular water changes and maintenance is required.

A lot of people will ask how many times should I feed my Flower Horn a day. We would ask you a question to answer your question; how fast do you want your Flower Horn to grow? A research done by us showed that 2 inch size fishes grew by 2 inches in a month (meaning that within 1 month it grew to 4 inches) if fed every 2 hours and the tank water is changed everyday by 90%. Can you go to this extreme in caring for your Flower Horn? If not then 3 to 4 times a day is good enough for your Flower Horn.

Lastly always remember to give different types of food to balance the nutrition level.
