After I finishing off my breakfeast, I poured what coffee I had left in my thermos over my head to cool off, and nearly froze to death. I fished, if that's what you want to call it, for three more hours without a bite. By this time it was so hot that my line was melting on my reels and sticking together, making it that much harder to hit my targets. I couldn't stand it any longer, so I headed my boat to the back end of a shady cove.
The temperature had now hit 108 in the shade, and I decided just to tie up to a standing tree and kick back and relax. As the boat bumped the tree I heard a crack then a loud snap, and a huge limb from the tree hit the water with a splash. Just before it hit the water I noticed a large snake about eight foot long wrapped around the limb. Just as quick as it hit the water the snake came shooting out about half cooked and looking like an old man that had spent to much time in a steam bath. The snake landed on the deck of my boat with a thud and hiss. It just laid there staring at me with his glazed over eyes.
Now, if any of you guys out there go fishing and hear a weak, whimpering voice coming from the back of a shady cove. Please come and get me out of this tree. "The snake has my boat!!!"
