1st Annual First UMC of Maiden Fish Rodeo
Saturday, May 22nd 8:00am-12:00pm

On Saturday, May 22nd the Methodist Men will be sponsoring the First Annual Fish Rodeo at Jimmy & Denise Campbell's pond from 8:00am-12:00pm. This event is open to any aged youth, boy or girl. Youth will be paired with an adult fishing partner. Bait will be available or you can bring your own. Fisherman will have to supply their own rod. At 12:00pm fisherman will be invited to stay for lunch and an awards ceremony will follow. Awards will be presented for the Biggest Fish, the Youngest Fisherman and the Oldest Fisherman. First U.M.C. Golf Tournament

Saturday, June 19th 1:30pm Shot Gun Start

On Saturday, June 19th the Methodist Men will sponsor a golf tournament at Glenn Oaks Country Club in Maiden. The tournament will be a 2-man team captain's choice. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams as well as the longest drive and closest to the pin. Door prizes will be given away and all golfers will receive a gift bag. Registration is $50.00 per person.

An individual or company can serve as a tournament sponsor for a $100.00 tax deductible donation. Tournament sponsors names will be displayed on a hole during the tournament, on a baner at the registration desk and in a flyer in all gift bags. Contact Jody Stouffer or Dwayne Wilson to register your team or to sign up as a tournament sponsor.

First U.M.C. New York Mission Trip

May 28 - June 5

On Friday, May 28, a 15 member mission team comprised of youth and adults will leave for a week in New York City. The team will stay in Manhattan and during their stay work at the following mission opportunities:
God's Love We Deliver - Delivering meals to homebound HIV / AIDS patients
Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen - Preparing and serving food to homeless
Icahn House After School Program - The Icahn House is a shelter for previously homeless women and their children. Our group will spend an afternoon with them presenting a project on North Carolina Pottery, sharing some North Carolina delectables (Sun Drop, Cheerwine and Moon Pies) and spending some recess time with the children.
Bronx Food Bank - Our group will be splitting large containers of food into smaller quantities for delivering to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
