The Annual Eastern Catawba County Methodist Men's Breakfast will be held on March 7, 2004 at Bethlehem U.M.C. in Claremont starting at 7:00am. The Rev. Tom Atema, General Manager of WMIT radio (106.9 FM) will be the special guest. Tom is a very powerful witness to the radio ministry.

The Methodist Men's Golf Tournament has been scheduled for June 19th at Glen Oaks Country Club. Tee off will be at 1:45pm. More information will follow as it becomes available.


UMM February Report

UMM President, Jody Stouffer, reported on the following items:
UMM District Breakfast - There will be a UMM District Breakfast held on March 7 at 7:00am at Bethlehem UMC in Claremont. Men attending the breakfast will meet in the church parking lot at 6:30am and take the van. There are currently 8 men signed up to atend.
Breakfast - The next Methodist Mens Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 14th at 7:00am in the Fellowship Hall.
Charter -The Methodist Men renewed their charter for the 2004 year and members will receive their UMM membership cards at the next meeting.
Fundraisers -The men are currently making plans to hold a fish fry this spring and a golf tournament this summer as a fundraiser. A date has not been set yet for the fish fry. The Methodist Men Golf Tournament has been scheduled for June 19th at Glen Oaks Country Club in Maiden. Tee time will be at 1:45pm. Contact Jody Stouffer or Dwayne Wilson for more information. will Tim Abernathy is looking into dates for the fish fry.
Youth Fishing Day - Jody Stouffer has begun planning a special day between the UMM and church youth. A Fishing Rodeo is being planned for this summer. No dates have been set at this time. UMM members will be paired with a youth from the church and prizes will be awarded for various categories. Denise Campbell has offered the use of her pond for this event.
Church Basketball -The UMM donated $100.00 to the church basketball team to assist them in meeting their registration costs.
Emmaus Walk - UMM President Jody Stouffer attended the Feb. 19th CCEC Walk. He felt it was a very powerful and inspiring experience.
Regional Conference - UMM President Jody Stouffer is looking into the possibility of attending the UMM Regional Conference March 28-30 in Pocono Manor, Pennsylvania.
