Son your dads a Fireman
I hope you understand
I haven't a lot to give the world
But I give it what I can.
The bright red trucks and shining lights
I know are a thrill to you
And just to be honest son,
They excite me too.
My turnout boots, you fill with toys,
But I don't mind a bit
Because I know you are a child
And someday it's you they'll fit.
Someday when you're older
To be a fireman you may choose.
I hope that you too have a son
To put toys in your shoes.
