On another hand, he may also represent the seller and help him find potential buyers, but usually the real estate agent represents either the sell or buy-side, rarely both. Finally, brokers are generally specialized in commercial or residential real estate.
Investment sales broker
He represents investors willing to buy, sell or finance a real estate asset and has to provide advice, and market information. It is important to note that this job is different than the usual commercial and residential brokerage since the clients here are demanding investors, and the real estate property is seen as asset rather than a place to settle down. Finally, marketing and pitching play a big part in this kind of career, as well as teamwork.
Real estate appraiser
His task is to value real estate properties and attribute accurate transaction prices.
The appraiser works usually for real estate companies or banks. This job requires both real estate and finance knowledge.
Real estate advisor
Works in a real estate advisory firm that raises equity for specific real estate investment. He has to help investors in finding real estate assets that match their specific requirements such as expected return and risk aversion. He usually focuses on specific properties likely to appreciate in the future.
