Volunteer Records. Records must be kept on all volunteers for many reasons. Calculating hours contributed, maintaining records for insurance purposes, and documenting who is willing to do which tasks are just a few of the reasons. Community Service Records. Similar to volunteer records, but requiring more coordination and reporting. Accounting. Like another business we have to track all monies received and what they were used for. Mortgage. Each Habitat homeowner pays a monthly mortgage. These payments must be recorded, applied to mortgage and escrow accounts, pay property taxes and insurance. Additionally, notices must be sent if payments are not received. Bookkeeping. Primarily the tracking of bills, payroll, taxes and the payment of them. Social Worker. We have a Social Worker intern program. This intern coordinates between Habitat, its homeowners and other agencies. Program Coordinator. The program Coordinator oversees the many different volunteers whose duties overlap. Computer Maintenance, Internet and Website. Like any office we need computers, use the internet and have a website. Volunteers are key to their upkeep. Photography. A photograph speaks louder than words. The photographer provides photographs to all the different committees and volunteers who use them to get information about the Habitat program out to the public. Newsletter. Our newsletter helps to keep everyone informed of the activities that have been done, are being done and are planned for the future.

Government. Many city, county, state and national government organizations and programs can be helpful to the Habitat goal. A volunteer helps to coordinate between these organizations and Habitat for the most efficient and economical means for both government and Habitat to achieve their goals. Churches. Churches are key to Habitats success. Without them we could not exist. Volunteers help to bring more of them into partnerships with Habitat. Businesses. Businesses are a key source of materials, services and financial assistance. Bringing more of them into partnership with Habitat helps us toward our goal. Lunches. We try to run our work days much like an old style barn raising, where members of the community come together to help a family within the community. During the workday we like to stop at lunch time and have some lunch. Volunteers coordinate between many different individuals, organizations, and businesses to provide these lunches. Community Service. There are many different groups and civic organizations that pride themselves on their community service. Reaching out to them and bringing them into partnership with Habitat is rewarding to both. Volunteers coordinate these efforts. Grants. There are a number of foundations that provide financial assistance in the form of grants to non-profit organizations such as Habitat. These foundations often have complicated application processes. A volunteer coordinates between Habitat and these foundations. Land Acquisition. The key to all Habitat acquisitions is to obtain as much land for as little cost as possible. Volunteers seek out such land. This helps us to keep construction costs down. Civic Organizations. Civic Organizations are as valuable as churches. They can be sponsors of entire homes or workdays. A volunteer coordinates their involvement and actively recruits more organizations. Partnership Coordinator. We have many partnerships with businesses, civic groups and organizations who have agreed to be of assistance to us on a repetitive basis. A volunteer coordinates these efforts. Fund Raising Coordinator. Normally a part of the Fund Raising Committee, a volunteer coordinates between the Fund Raising Committee and the many other efforts that may result in fund raising opportunities. Some of these projects include:

Aluminum Can Drive. Volunteers are needed to get the word out about our Aluminum Can fund raising efforts as well as sometimes going out and picking up cans from those who wish to contribute. Cell Phone Drive. Volunteers are needed to get the word out about our Cell Phone fund raising efforts as well as sometimes going out and picking up phones from those who wish to contribute. Newspaper Recycling. Volunteers are needed to get the word out about our Newspaper Recycling fund raising efforts as well as sometimes going out and picking up newspapers from those who wish to contribute. Holy Bears. We have Habitat for Humanity Holy Bears that we sell as a fund raiser. Volunteers sell the bears through friends, work or at booths set up at businesses or events. Stud Sales. A great fund raiser where people give us a donation and put their favorite Bible verse or best wishes on a stud that will be used in the construction of a home. Home Sponsors. The most challenging volunteer position is to find individuals, organizations, churches or businesses willing to sponsor the cost of an entire home. Square Foot of Construction Sponsors. Similar to stud sales except that people put their favorite Bible verse or best wishes on the bottom of a floor tile. Stages of Construction Sponsors. Nearly as challenging as finding home sponsors, a volunteer finds individuals, organizations, churches or businesses willing to sponsor the cost of a stage of the construction process.
