What are Dresspheres?
Dresspheres are special spheres that unlock personnal attributes such as Gunner, Thief, or Warrior. Each have a different class and various different attacks. You can gain more Dresspheres by finding them all around Spira.
Gunner provides long-range attacks for enemies that your party can't attack with normal melee weapons. You can choose a normal attack, or special attacks with Trigger Happy or other special attacks like Cheap Shot.
Gunner Default
Unlike Warrior or other melee dresspheres, Thief can use MP to steal various items from enemies, such as items, accessories, or simply gil. Uniquely, a thief uses two dagger-like weapons that each deal half the normal damage you would deal.
Thief Default
The Warrior dressphere is the favorite of melee combat. Not only is it powerful, but you gain more HP activating this dressphere. You can use special attacks like Armor Break, Power Break, or Magic Break, and use elemental sword attacks as well. You can eventually acquire Sentinel and strongly reduce damage whlie the turn is in effect.
Warrior Default
The Songstress is a very unique dressphere on its own. You can cast spells either for yourself or your party by dancing. Dancing can inflict status ailments on the enemy party, if not immune, or can strengthen your own party. You cannot attack enemies using this dressphere.
Songstress Default
The White Mage serves like it does in every Final Fantasy game. You can cure your party members, protect them from physical or magical attacks, and revive a fallen ally from death. You cannot attack with the White Mage, but you can use Pray to cure a little amount of HP to your whole party, and use Vigor to quickly cure yourself without using MP.

How do you change Dresspheres?
To change your current dressphere, when it is your turn, press the L1 button if you are not in effect of 'Curse.' After pressing L1, you will be shown a menu where you can choose the next dressphere you want to use. Afterwards, select the dressphere. You may have to wait for a couple turns to go by before you begin changing.
Somewhat in relation to the White Mage, the Black Mage uses offensive magic attacks to dispose of enemies. You can use various elemental attacks, as well as non-elemental attacks and powerful spell attacks such as Death. All elemental attacks with a Black Mage will be listed here.
Black Mage Chapter I: Leblanc Syndicates; talk to Shinra after
This is somewhat similar to the Gunner, however the Gun Mage uses magic in various different ways. The Gun Mage can take abilities from creatures such as Bad Breath (learn from Malboro, Great Malboro) and put it into your Blue Magic category. There you will be able to use this ability you have learned anytime you want at the cost of MP. To see whether or not you can learn an ability from an enemy, simply use Scan.
Gun Mage Chapter I: Acquire from Tobli at Moonflow
If you played Final Fantasy X, you will be used to this. The Alchemist is the same as Rikku's old Overdrive in FFX. You can use your items in various special ways by mixing them, giving you an offensive item, defensive item, or a recovery item.
Alchemist Chapter II: Ex-Monster Arena
The Samurai is alot like the Warrior (and much similar to Auron from FFX), except there are more advanced abilities. Use different attacks such as Spare Change to throw gil at the enemy for damage, or Shin-Zantetsu to destroy all enemies instantly.
