Feb. 22: Regular Toastmaster Meeting, Room 503 (2002-06)

President Gladdy Patawaran (GP) introduced Magician Edwin Afaga (EA) as the Toastmaster of the Day (TMD). EA walked through with the program. ATM Rene Aquino (ReA) advised the audience that when answering the impromptu contest, the opening and the closing line must have a connection.

VP-Educ Eddie Boy Lontok,Jr. and VP-Pro Marissa Monsanto (MM) got the taste of their impromptu contest when they were subjected to practice and interpreted a quotation from Fluor Knowledge On Line.

Tony Soria's Speech No. 9 "Planning for your Life" was about things we should prepared for the future. Pre-need or Educational plan? A funeral services nor a memorial home plan? Feeling secured financially ahead is what TS trying to persuade on us.

Rosette Hizon (RH) Speech No.6 journeyed us to USA. From setting a foot in LA to reaching Sear's rooftop in Chicago, she described her "Trips" into the famous cities in USA as something that she only seen in the magazine or movies. RH earned the Speaker of the Day.

Feb. 15: Regular Toastmaster Meeting, Room 503 (2002-05)

The meeting started at 11:30pm. Since few attendees were present, Area 73 Governor L.Espino has asked for any volunteers for the coming local speech competition to be held in Goodyear, 5:30pm on February 28, 2002 (Thursday). The following list of names came up as suggested by those who were presence during the meeting

ATM R.Aquino delivered his humorous speech, "Accustomed to my old grown face" and provided helpful tips on writing speechs.

Feb. 1: Regular Toastmaster Meeting, Room 503 (2002-04)

President Gladdy Patawaran called the session in order and introduced Romar Dagani (RH) as the Toastmaster of the Day. RH walked through with the program…finally turned to Danny Manarang (DM) to proceed with table topic. DM picked up Rosette Hizon (RH) who in turn don't agree with death sentence as penalty for those committing heinous crimes, she further cited that increasing rape is due to poverty and poor education. Secretary Rico Abibas (RA) on his part, agreed with the Balikatan exercise because it is the best training package for Filipino soldiers fighting terrorism. RA challenged every Filipino to admit that we cannot crash this Abu Sayaf group alone but we need the Americans supports that from the beginning are our allies.

Mercy Manalo (MeM) commented that the media today sometimes helpful and telling lies. They gave us information too much or too secret and exaggerated, she further added. Maridel Torres (MT) suggested that the best ways to uplift the image of the Filipino people is to focus more on education because educated people helps to progress the country.

VP-Education Eddie Boy Lontok,Jr. (EL) on his speech no.8 titled, "Sideline" talked about his skills in preparing and making a boneless bangus (milkfish) which eventually became his sideline since learning it during his 3rd year college in Don Bosco. EL reminded that "the easiest way to a man's heart is through his stomach" especially when she is your mother-in-law?

X Magnaye (XM) delivered her speech no. 9 comparing the advantages of buying between brand new or old car. XM speech, "Buying A Second Hand Car" is a practical, orderly procedure of how to, step by step useful tips on buying really a second hand car. She won the Speaker of the Day.
