Toastmaster Meeting, Room 503 (2002-07)
Milet Marquez (MiM) as the Toastmaster of
the Day (TMD), after being introduced by President Gladdy
Patawaran (GP) called ATM Rene Aquino (ReA) to precide
over the table topic.
ReA selected Tony Soria (TS) to interpret the first
Knowledge OnLine quotation, "Shoot to the moon even
if you miss, you're still among the stars". TS said
that you must dream and shoot for it, even when you
stumble and fall, get up and resume the shooting. Money
is not the ultimate goal but share a little what we have.
VP PRO Marissa Monsanto (MM) advised to concentrate on
what the path for today and not to check for minute
details for the "art of being wise is also knowing
what to overlooked". Milet Marquez (MiM) made an
analogy between parents and child. Parents should allow
change for themselves like when the time their children
will choose a partner in life. MiM explained parents
"have to change time and still hold to unchanging
principle".
Rosette Hizon (RH) Speech No.7 detailed the vulnerable
spot of "A
Filipino Engineer's Archilles' Heel" in English
language. RH even further cited statistic result that 75%
of Filipino engineers have difficulty making composition
and speaking using the english as a medium. She earned
once again the Speaker of the day.
