Hugs Program
NEED A HUG?
Need a hug? Lion Tina has then, hundreds of them, well actually she has collected over 2,000 hugs. They seem to be given out as fast as they come in. Giving out hugs?
Oh, hugs are stuffed animals that the Frostburg Lions provide to police and other emergency services, as well as any program that deals with children. They are used for diversion, and to help cheer up distressed kids. Thats the Hugs Program.
Frostburg Lions have provided dozens, hundreds in some cases, of stuffed animals. We provide to: Frostburg Police, Ronald McDonald House in Morgantown, WV, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, Homeless Shelter, Battered Womens Shelter(s) and much more.
We are now partnering with Lonaconing Lions to expand our giving of hugs to kids. Lonaconing will be providing them to the police and ambulance service in Lonaconing, and other parts of the county.
There have been several write-ups in the Cumberland Times-News about this program, most notably, is the
Editorial presented by the Times.

Hugs are important! You can participate in a number of ways. You can donate animals, you can distribute animals, and you can make a cash contribution for the purchase of animals, or to cover some of the other expenses of the program. either way, there is always room for another hug.
