Welcome to the homepage for WI-NIAD Small Scale Reptile Rescue (formerly Wisconsin National Iguana Awareness Day). NIAD was formed to help educate people on what owning an iguana really entails. Since the begining of the rescue when we were iguana only to now, where we take in everything we can, we have been dedicated to two things. Education of proper captive care of reptiles and conservation of reptiles in the wild. If you have questions you can email me directly or you can check out the links that I have provided. You can also find out about Wisconsin Area Happenings that relate to reptiles. As for on a state level we can help you find a good pet store or supply store. We can also offer free educational seminars about iguanas. We also always have many reptiles available for adoption. We work closely with all the state animal control agencies and humane societies to ensure proper care and placement for reptiles that end up in their hands. We are also in the process of becoming a 501-C non-profit agency.

We currently are not taking owner surrenders on iguanas and large snakes until further notice. As Always, we will list your animals free of charge through our various resources. Please fill out the appropriate form in the articles section.

Meet Oscar!! The First WI-NIAD Mascot!

Oscar was found in a tree in Kenosha Wisconsin wandering free. We have no clue on his true story. Oscar has had MBD at some time in the future. Oscar has proven to be a wonderful even tempered iguana most of the time and he has proven to be a great Educator.
