I love the month of February, as you can see from the special dates page. There are four very important and special dates in my life and two of them are in this month, the births of my sons. Nothing has given me more pleasure than to be a father and to try my best and help to raise my sons as I should but yet all of us parents feel inadequate and frustrated at times. I know that I owe a lot to my parents and this being the month that my Dad was born and subsequently me on his birthday, I would like to take the time to thank him for being my Dad. He was an immigrant from France and came over to the US before WWII. To me he is a remarkable man that taught me a lot about being a man, a husband, and a father. He always has worked hard, is ethical and moral, is strong, is dedicated to his family, is principled and stands by those principles even if they are not convenient or accepted by the mainstream. I see in myself a lot of my Dad and it makes me proud. He may not be the best father, but who is, but to me and for me he is the best Dad. In a sense I think I may have joined the military because of what and who he is. Our country has given so much to my family and I knew that serving my country would help to pay the debt that I owe to her. Because above all else my Dad is a true patriot and always taught me that America is the greatest nation on earth and we should do what we can to serve her. As I have grown up, matured, and have my own family now, I truly realize what it means to be a Dad and I pray that when my sons grow up they will think of me as I do of my Dad. Dad I love you.
