Our Meetings

Our meetings are fun, and well run: we strive for a warm and friendly atmosphere, which leads to a non-intimidating, comfortable setting for skill development. We enjoy ourselves while we improve our communication skills.

Guests are always welcome! We almost always have a few guests at our meetings. We'll provide you with a guest packet describing the proceedings, and will give you a chance to speak (only if you wish).

Our meetings usually consist of:

	3-4 Prepared Speeches (usually 5-7 minutes)
	Impromptu Speeches (short 1-2 minute speeches given without advance notice)
	Evaluations of Prepared Speeches (because you can't improve unless you get feedback!)
	Educational Topics (e.g. how to prepare a speech, how to write an opening, closing)

We often have special meetings, such as outdoor meetings at the park, speech contests, and field trips just-for-fun.

Our Facilities

We meet most Saturdays at the one of the following places: Fremont Main Library, Newark Public Library and Union City Library. We have abundant equipment at our disposal, including a TV and DVD/VCR deck, a projection screen and wireless internet. The Club owns a computer projector (for Powerpoint presentations); a miniDV camcorder (we can videotape your speech for your later review); and a flipchart easel. You can develop presentation skills with any of the commonly used visual aids.

Still wondering? You're not alone. All of us at Fantastic Toastmasters started out just like you, wondering what Toastmasters is like. Fear of speaking is almost universal, but can be overcome.
