Joint meeting with CBC Toastmasters
Saturday, October 21, 2006
CBC Toastmasters, like Fantastic, meets on Saturday mornings so we thought it was time to pay them a friendly visit for a fun change of pace.
The first half of our Joint Meeting was a hands-on speech evaluation workshop, conducted by the 2005 District 57 evaluation contest champion, Roger Lee. It was an excellent exercise in collaboration among fellow Toastmasters, and it proved that even great speakers could improve with feedback from ordinary folks.
The second half of the meeting was devoted to a "Tell us something we didn't already know" game. Examples? "Who is a prince of Andaman?" or "Who appeared in a Game Show...in Beijing?" or "Who is interested in, and wants to try out, Motorcycles?". Great fun!
