Families interested in CPS Reform and Families Victimized and Abused by CPS sent information to the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources Hearing on State Efforts to Comply with Federal Child Welfare Reviews of

"This Subcommittee has received numerous comments from families involved with the child welfare system. A number of these comments speak to the issues raised as part of the review process. I thank these individuals for taking the time to share their comments with us." Rep. Wally Herger The Petition to Request Congressional Inquiries of HHS CPS in ALL States was faxed to that hearing.
Again, Victimized Families and those interested in CPS Reform submitted information to the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources Hearing on Failure to Protect Child Safety of Thursday, June 17, 2004. Another updated Petition Signature Report to Request Congressional Inquiries was emailed today to Congressman Wally Herger and members of the subcommitee with 967 signatures. A long time ago, it was estimated that one letter represents the opinions of 300 people. If that is still true today, the 967 signatures on the Petition represents the opinions of 290,100 people!!!
Things are beginning to look up as far as getting Congressional Inquiries or Investigations of Child Protective Services in All States, however, nothing is set in concrete yet. We must continue to push for a nationwide investigation until there is an official announement on the Ways and Means website agreeing to do an investigation.
"Child Protection" is a corrupt multi-billion dollar industry with a "moral" and "noble" facade of "saving children" plastered on it. That "facade" is falling away bit by bit. Only by an extremely thorough, nationwide investigation of CPS will the exploitation of our children for greed and profit, the full extent of the widespread corruption of CPS and the Child Protection Industry and the true horrendous facts come to light.
What do we do now?
We must now contact our state representatives to request Congressional Inquiries. Contact your States' Congressmen and your state Senators and tell them your stories, Request that they conduct Congressional Inquiries in your state. Request that they support Nationwide Congressional Inquiries of Child Protective Services in ALL STATES.

Welfare Reviews and Failure to Protect Child Safety (see info. listed
above);
(c) Start a
webpage, put your state representatives contact information on it and spread
the word!
Get in touch with other victims of CPS in your area, Spread the word!
Start and email tree or letter writing campaign
and encourage victims of CPS in your state to also write your state representatives
to request Congressional Inquiries in ALL states.
(c). Tell your Congressman of your experience with Child Protective Services
(or whatever it's called in your own state) and how it has negatively impacted
your family and the lives of your children;
(d) Ask your Congressman to SUPPORT
a National Congressional Inquiry of CPS Abuses and Victimizations of Families;
(e). Ask your
Congressman to hold Congressional Inquiries in your state.
Our State Representatives MUST be contacted and MUST be convinced to support NATIONWIDE CONGRESSIONAL INQUIRIES OF CPS. Get with your state advocates and conduct a systematic campaign to contact your state representatives, or if you have no state advocate, Start your own Campaign!

has had some excellent ideas: Put a public service announcement in your
local paper (usually local papers will do this for free) announcing a meeting,
when people call state that you are forming a group.
Other ways to get in touch with others in your area victimized by CPS: Write
a letter to the editor of your local newspapers or newspapers in your state,
print out informational brochures, paste on bulletin boards in post offices,
grocery stores, department stores, gas stations, etc. Keep those without
computers informed.
EXAMPLE LETTERS - STATE ADVOCATES
CAN PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE LETTER FOR PEOPLE TO USE TO WRITE THEIR REPRESENTATIVES.
When Home School Legal Defense (HSLD) calls for a letter writing campaign,
they supply a brief example letter. They request that each letter writer
modify the letter as politicians frown on "form letters". The times I participated
in HSLD letter writing campaigns, I rearranged the letter, reworded a few
things but kept the information/meaning the same, kept all the facts/information
in it, and added a few pertinent details.
