Taking stock
Over the past couple of days I have been sorting out all my craft "junk". It was slowly starting to take over the back bedroom, growing worse every time I tried my hand at something new. So finally, I have decided to go through it all, and try and downsize a little, as well as see what projects I need to be working on. I am finding it very hard to part with a lot of things, but have managed to get rid of some projects. Still, here is the updated list of projects I have coming up.

Started but Incomplete
*A "surprise project" for my sister (which really means incomplete Christmas '04 present)
*My first ever patchwork quilt, currently only about the size of a small baby blanket
*A quilt to hang on the wall of our nursery for when we have babies (I know how much I procrastinate - I had to start early!)
*Country Angels Wall Hanging, a pre-printed quilted number
*Knitted beanie for my mum
*Knitted Dishcloths
*A Multi-coloured mini-scarf (in other words, I bound it off before it was long enough & now it needs modifying to be wearable)
*Appliqued & Quilted wallhanging for my Mum (again from Christmas '04)
*Christmas Stockings for P and I
*Vintage Catwalk cats for January's Month of Softies
*Signature Bears
*Greeting Cards

Future Projects - Planned but as yet, Not Started
*Celebration Bon-Bons (I would say for Christmas but I have 48 snaps, so I might make some as birthday presents)
*A Hanging device for Christmas cards, not that we ever get any *sniff, sniff*
*A clock for my brother (which again I was making for Christmas '04)
*A Christmas Wreath
*Soaps
*Dyed wool
*Kittyville hat for LJ
*Patchwork blanket of fluffy knitted squares
*A cross-stitch for my in-laws
*A cross-stitch for my aunty
*2 tablecloths
*A "surprise project" for little miss H. (Tara & Micah's baby)
*Tea Caddy x 2 (1 for mum)
*Patchwork Cushion
*Case for knitting needles
*Chinese Checker Board
*A "surprise project" for fat-J (again with the late Christmas present thing!)
*Christmas Linens
*Patchwork Tree Ornaments
*Patterns for quite a few different skirts, dresses and tops
*Patterns for at least 5 different quilts
*Knitting patterns to keep me busy for the rest of my life!

What on earth am I thinking? I think I'm going to have to knock the list back even further. For now, I am going to update my "current & future projects" list with only the five most current projects. So at the moment, in priority order, they are:
*Vintage Catwalk cats for January's Month of Softies (I only have 5 more days)
*A cross-stitch for my in-laws
*Knitted Dishcloths
*Knitted beanie for my mum & Kittyville hat for LJ
*A "surprise project" for little miss H. (Tara & Micah's baby)

Well, I am off to sew and knit and perhaps cook dinner. I will perhaps write again one day, if I can get myself out from under this ridiculously obsessive load of projects. Oh and by the way, Happy Australia Day, especially to all you Aussies living abroad (and Aussies at heart, fat-J!). I hope you are eating pies and lamingtons. Or as Sam Kekovich would like, maybe some lamb. Who is that guy anyway?

To Do in January

1) Say goodbye to two of my favourite people :(
2) Eat at least one piece of fruit everyday
3) Track every dollar I spend for the whole month
4) Finish a craft project I am making for someone in my family
5) Smile more!
6) Buy two bikes

Reading
Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook
by Debbie Stoller

This book is on my rather extensive Amazon wishlist, so I decided to check it out at the library first. So far, I'm loving it.

Watching
K-PAX

I've seen a few Kevin Spacey movies lately. This one was on TV last night and caught our attention. We had to record the end though, because we are old and can't stay up past 9:30
