Hurts so good
I just sat down and had my first decent piano practice since I finished lessons in December. I can't believe I neglected it for so long. Considering I restart lessons next week, I thought it was high time I looked back over a few things. And it felt so good to play again. I love to be able to make music like that. The only thing is it makes me realise how desperately I need a new piano if I want to keep playing at this level. But that once again brings me to the dilemma of new piano vs trip to America. And I know most of you out there would say travel wins hands down. But you are not pianists by trade, so it's not as easy as that. Anyway, maybe somehow we will get both and just have to pay off the mortgage a little longer. Who knows.

On a freaky bizarre note I had a strange dream last night. This is nothing new for me, as I'm always having strange dreams, like the other night when I dreamt a male friend wanted to marry me, even though I was married to P. Kind of scary and glad it's not true. Or is it? Just kidding! Anyway, the dream I had last night was very disjointed. Funny how even in my subconscious I can't string things together logically. My lovely cousin Kylie and her beau Ed were showing P and I the house they want to buy. It was surrounded by massive apartment blocks on all sides, which completely dwarfed the house. I could see absolutely no reason why they would want to buy a house where all their neighbours could look down and see in to them, and strongly advised them against purchasing it. I hope this is not a sign of anything to come.

I also dreamt that they were expecting their first child. But it wasn't Kylie who was pregnant it was Ed. He had quite the pregnant belly on him and looked like he was due to pop at anytime. Now I know that's all strange, and hopefully Kylie & Ed will get a laugh out of it. But here's the freakish part. They were catching the train to my house, along with Kylie's sister, and they were severley delayed. When they finally got here, they explained that their train had snapped in two and there were sparks flying everywhere. Then of course when I watched the news this morning, I saw the story about the trains in the USA hitting a car and derailing and sparks and fire and the rest of it. I have had "premonition" type dreams before, not that I actually believe them. It's just a little bit scary in a way.

Oh and also in my dream, my backyard was on fire, and we were all just watching the fire snake its way toward the house. No panicking. No trying to put it out. No gathering together precious possessions to evacuate. Somehow I guess we all knew we were going to be ok.

Reading
Stitch 'N Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook
by Debbie Stoller

This book is on my rather extensive Amazon wishlist, so I decided to check it out at the library first. So far, I'm loving it.

Watching
K-PAX

I've seen a few Kevin Spacey movies lately. This one was on TV last night and caught our attention. We had to record the end though, because we are old and can't stay up past 9:30
