Cho Oyu 2008
Introduction About the Climb "The Death Zone" Classroom  in the Clouds
The Mountain
Cho Oyu is found in the Greater Himalaya range, on the border of Tibet and Nepa. At 8,201m, Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world, it is 649m lower than Everest. Cho Oyu is regarded as the most accessible and least dangerous of the fourteen 8000m peaks in the world - but it will certainly still be a massive challenge!
Around 1300 people have reached the summit of Cho Oyu, compared with around 1700 for Everest. Around 200 people have climbed the Seven Summits (the highest peaks of each continent), whilst just 14 people have summitted all 14 8000 metre peaks.
