HILLSBOROUGH - Mrs. Minnie Davis Walters, 99 years young, peacefully passed away at home with her family at her side Saturday, November 13, 2004. She was the daughter of the late James and Frances Davis and the wife of the late Clarence Irvin Walters. She is survived by a son, Irvin Dwight Walters and wife, Libby, and a daughter, Sue Pope and husband, Tom, of Hillsborough; grandsons, Dave Walters, Tommy Pope and wife, Rhonda, Jim Walters and wife, Dawn, and Jack Walters; granddaughters, Mary Walters Gary and husband, Charles, Candi Pope Griffin and husband, Bill, Melanie Pope Liner and husband, Chip; six great grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren, and two step-great-great-grandchildren. The family thanks Yvonne Waller and Anne Whitted for their loving care of Minnie. Minnie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hillsborough for over 65 years. The family will receive friends at the home of Tom and Sue Pope at 415 North Cameron St., Hillsborough, on Sunday night from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hillsborough, 201 W. King St., by the Rev. Randy Carter and Dr. Brightie White. Pallbearers will be Dr. Reggie Carter, Charles Gary, Bill Griffin, Chip Liner, Tommy Pope, Dave Walters, Jack Walters, and Jim Walters. Those who wish to remember Minnie may make memorials to the church. Arrangements are with - Walker's Funeral Home.
