My husband & I were sitting in the waiting room, I was really starting to get hungry. The closer it got to 2:00pm the more nervous I got. Finally 2:00pm rolls around and no one shows up for me. Finally at 2:55pm the guy that was gonna put me to sleep show up.
He took my husband & I off into a private room to explain what he was going to do. He was explaining how long the surgery would take, he listened to my lungs because I'm a smoker, & was just about to lead me off to put me to sleep when the dr. came in.
I figured the dr. just wanted to know if we had any last minute questions. I was wrong about that. He was canceling my surgery because he didn't feel good. He had been sick for over a week and had been doing surgeries all day long. He decided he just couldn't do mine.
I left the hospital mad as hell. It was to late to get my husbands holidays canceled so he had to take the days off. They rescheduled my surgery again, but this time I had to tell them I couldn't make it because my husband didn't have any holidays left and he was working night-shifts when the next day was available.
When I checked back with them a week later I found out that this dr. had decided to retire and wasn't booking anymore surgeries. By this point I had my first appointment scheduled with Dr. Lie in Toronto. He is a specialist for women with Endo.
We made the 5 hour drive to Toronto to see Dr. Lie. I was glad I had gotten into Dr. Lie's office so quickly. He answered any questions my husband and I had. He was very knowledgable about Endo. Dr. Lie wanted me to either go on the Endo or the cancer diet. I had already made some changes to my diet by this time and was getting some improvement on the length and frequency of my pains.
I checked out a couple of books that Dr. Lie suggeted I read about the two diets. I found that the cancer diet was a little to strick and knew I would never be able to do it. I slowly started implementing the Endo diet. I am now fully on the Endo diet and have my pains completely under control.
May 1, 2001 I go back to Dr. Lie's office to sign all papers for my surgery that is scheduled for May 30, 2001. Dr. Lie will go in and remove all the Endo that he can find & hopefully with it's removal and the Endo diet I will be able to finally live a normal life.
I'll keep you posted about what happens next.
